EXTRAORDINARY SESSION

ANNAPOLIS, Mp., Monday, November 57 1945.

STATE OF MARYLAND, TO WIT :

Monday, the fifth day of November in the year nineteen hundred
and forty-five, at 12.00 o'clock noon being the day appointed by the
Proclamation of the Governor of Maryland for the meeting of the
General Assembly of Maryland in Extraordinary Session, the Senate
was called to order by the Secretary of the Senate.

The following Senators answered to-their names:

Twenty-nine Senators answered to the roll call, a quorum being
present, the Senate of Maryland, Extraordinary Session of Novem-
ber 5th, 1945, is now ready for the transaction of business.

The first order of business will be the election, of the temporary
presiding officer. Are you ready for the question ?

The Hon. Joseph K. Byrnes, duly seconded, nominated the Hon.
J. Wilmer Cronin as temporary presiding officer. There being no
other nominations, the Hon. J. Wilmer Cronin was unanimously
elected presiding officer.

The Senator from Baltimore City and the Senator from Talbot
County were appointed to escort Senator J. Wilmer Cronin to the
Chair.

The President pro tem delivered a short address.
Prayer was offered by Senator Davis.

The next order of business was the election of a permanent pre-
siding officer.
