appear on a canvass of all the votes cast at said election that a
majority of them have been in favor of the proposed amend-
ments, then the Mayor and Common Council shall, without
delay, proclaim their adoption.
49. The Road Directors of Prince George's County shall
pay over to said Mayor and Common Council of Capitol
Heights, as soon as this Act shall become effective, to be ex-
pended by said Mayor and Common Council exclusively in
the repair and improvement of streets and roads within the
limits of said town, all sums collected and now in the posses-
sion of said Road Directors representing the proportionate
amount of taxes collected and now held by said Road Directors
for account of the territory now within the limits of said
Capitol Heights.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 53.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 61 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland of 1920, being an Act to require the
State's Attorney for Somerset County to act as attorney to
the County Commissioners, Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions, County Board of Education, and the Sheriff of Somer-
set County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 61 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1920, being an Act to require the State's Attor-
ney for Somerset County to act as attorney for the County
Commissioners, Board of Supervisors of Elections, County
Board of Education, and the Sheriff of Somerset County, be
and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1922.
