1004 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 453

SEC. 2. On the taking effect of this Act, Section 1 of Article
43 of the Annotated Code, title "Health," sub-title "State
Board of Health," shall be repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:

It shall consist of eight members as follows: one shall be an
experienced civil engineer, another an experienced certified
pharmacist and four shall be experienced physicians, all to be
appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Senate; and the Governor shall designate one of the four
experienced physicians as the Chairman; the remaining mem-
bers of the Board shall consist of the Attorney General of the
State and the Commissioner of Health of the City of Baltimore.
The persons so appointed by the Governor shall hold office for
six years, provided that those first appointed under this Act
shall be so classed by the Governor that the terms of office of
two shall expire on the first Monday of May, 1924, the terms of
office of two on the first Monday of May, 1926, and the terms
of office of two on the first Monday of May, 1928, and thereafter
in each case the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Senate, shall appoint two members in the place of the two whose
terms shall so expire. All vacancies among said members shall
be filled by the Governor with the advice and consent of the
Senate. The physician designated as Chairman shall be skilled
in public health and hygiene.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after the first day of January, 1923.

CHAPTER 453.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 2 of
Chapter 420 of the Acts of 1920, directing the County Com-
missioners of Kent County to pay a certain sum of money
to the town of Millington for road purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Chapter 420 of the Acts of 1920, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to
read as follows:
