the price paid for the property. If any deed is presented
to the Clerk of the Court which has not said certificate attach-
ed or stamped thereon, it shall be the duty of the Clerk to
the Court to present said deed to the Clerk of the County
Commissioners to have it certified before recording the same.
All Acts of parts of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 723.

AN ACT to require the County Commissioners of Garrett
County to make a contract for all public printing once
a year and to award such contract to the lowest respon-
sible bidder.

CHAPTER 724.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 97 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Weights and Measures," said
new section to be numbered Section 27-A and to follow
immediately after Section 27 of said Article, making it
a misdemeanor to give short weight or short measure.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new potion be added to Article 97 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Weights and Measures,"
said new section to be numbered Section 27-A, to follow im-
mediately after Section 27 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

27-A. Any person, firm or corporation, or agent, em-
ployee or officer of any person, firm or corporation who shall
knowingly and wilfully give short weight or short measure
to any one purchasing any article or commodity shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and shall on convicition be fined not
less than twenty-five dollars nor more than five hundred dol-
lars. A warrant for the arrest of any person, or agent, em-
ployees or officer of any person, firm or corporation may be
issued at the instance of the purchaser receiving the short
