157 ~  James Knox reports on work at Head of Manokin bridge; Court orders Richard Chambers and John Goldsmith to view the work and report back in March Court.

 

157 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford to a value of at least 20,340 lbs/tbco; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court to answer for his debt to Francis Jenckins; note added on 16 November by Subsheriff Martin Trentham that he had attached negros and 5 yearlings, part valued at 3511 lbs/tbco.

 

157 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford to a value of at least 1407 lbs/tbco; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court, answer to Francis Jenckins; note added on 16 November by Subsheriff Martin Trentham that he had attached two negros, Bess & Mott, valued at more than the required amount.

 

158 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford, administrator of estate of Bejamin Keizer, to a value of 4940 lbs/tbco; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court, answer to Francis Jenckins; note added 16 November, Subsheriff Martin Trentham attached one negro boy, Jack, and 1082 lbs/tbco partial value of other negros attached.

 

158 ~  Memorandum dated 16 November 1694; John and James Henderson sworn in by William Whittington as appraisers for goods and chattels of Lawrence Crawford to be levied by the Sheriff.

 

158 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford to a value of 2063 lbs/tbco; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court, answer to Peter Dent; note added 16 November, Subsheriff Martin Trentham attached one mulatto girl, and various other items; Court orders condemnation and execution of above goods.

 

159 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford to a value of 300 lbs/tbco; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court, answer to Peter Dent; note added 16 November, Subsheriff Martin Trentham attached livestock and tobacco.

 

159 ~  Writ ordering Sheriff to attach goods of Lawrence Crawford to a value of 200 lbs/pork; signed 14 November 1694 by John West, Clerk of Court; requires Crawford to appear in January Court, answer to John Barren; note added 16 November, Subsheriff Martin Trentham that he had attached two barrels of corn.

 

159 ~  Appraisal by John and James Henderson dated 16 November of items attached from Lawrence Crawford for use of Francis Jenckins: 5 year old Negro boy, Jack, at 5000 lbs/tbco, a 45 year old Negro woman, Bess, and 2 year old girl, Moll, together valued at 5500 lbs; also livestock at 500 lbs/tbco.

 

160 ~  Appraisal by John and James Henderson dated 16 November of items attached from Lawrence Crawford for use of Peter Dent & John Barren; includes 5 year old mulatto girl, Sue, and various household goods and supplies.

160 ~  Mr Thomas Jones, Pltf. vs. William Clarke, of Lewes Towne near Whorekill, Exctr of Henry Bowman, Deft. for debt of 1000 lbs/tbco; Samuel Alexander, attorney for Jones, submits receipt from Henry Bowman dated 2 May 1692 for receipt of 1000 lbs/tbco from Edward Bombridge which was due to Jones, but never given; Court awards for Jones as declared.

 

161 ~  Robert Catlin, Pltf. vs. George Kendall, Deft; no declaration filed; Court rules a non-suit.

 

161 ~  Samuel Sandford, Pltf. vs. John Calhoone, Deft; scieri facias for 561 lbs/pork; withdrawn by Catlin’s attorney since payment was received.

 

161 ~  Case against John Strawbridge; no presentment or indictment found; case dismissed; costs to be paid by informer Neal Mccoy (Mackoy).

 

161 ~  Richard Stevens, Pltf. vs. Daniel Meginis, Deft; no declaration filed; Court rules a non-suit.

 

161 ~  Alexander Thomas, Pltf. vs. Edward Gould, Deft. for debt of 5050 lbs/tbco; Sam Worthington, attorney for Thomas, cites a bill of debt signed 18 February 1685 by Gould in Wicomico; no appearance by Gould or his attorney; Court orders Sheriff to assign the bail bond.
