CHAPTER 265.

Passed March
8, 1862.

AN ACT to amend the seventy-second section of
Article fifth of the Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to Calvert county, regulating the com-
pensation of the Sheriff for keeping and board-
ing prisoners in jail.

Amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section seventy-two of Article
five of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to
Calvert county, be amended and re-enacted to read
as follows :

Jail prison-
ers — price of
board.

72. The Sheriff of Calvert county shall receive
forty cents a day for keeping and boarding each
prisoner in jail.

In force.

Sec. 2. This act shall take effect from the day
of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 266.

7, 1862.

AN ACT to promote the more general diffusion
of information respecting the proceedings of the
County Commissioners of Worcester county, the
Trustees of the Poor, and the Board of Primary
Education of said county.

Annual state-
ments — publi-
cation, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Worcester county, shall cause to be published in
some newspaper printed in Worcester county, for
at least three successive weeks previous to the first
Wednesday of November next, and so in like man-
ner in each and every year thereafter, the annual
statement and report of the Trustees of the Poor
of Worcester county, which statement and report
shall be made by the said Trustees to the County
Commissioners aforesaid, at least two months be-
fore the time above named for its publication, and
