AN ACT to amend the thirteenth Article of the

Code of Public Local Laws, relating to Howard
county, by adding thereto the following sections
relating to the duties and pay of the Sheriff of
said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following sections be and
they are hereby added to the thirteenth Article of
the Public Local Laws, relating to Howard county:

75. He shall be allowed a fee of one dollar for
every committal of a prisoner to the jail of the
county in addition to the amounts allowed him
under the preceding section.

76. He shall be allowed fifty cents for every
warrant delivered by him to the Judges of elec-
tion for the county.

77. It shall be his duty to attend in person, or
by deputy, the Circuit court, whether sitting in
law or equity, and the Orphans' court, whenever
the said courts, or either of them shall be in ses-
sion, and for every day's attendance at each of said
courts he shall be allowed the sum of two dollars ;
but the said Sheriff, or his deputy shall perform
the duties of bailiff in the Orphans' court when
required by the court.
