the members of the said Protestant Episcopal Church within
the bounds of said new parish duly organized and elected a
Vestry and erected a Church Building and named the same St.
John's Church, and the said Vestry then became and became
known as the Vestry of Havre de Grace Parish, and was so
known for many years.

AND WHEREAS, Afterwards, on the 8th day of April, in the
year 1839, the Vestry of said Parish, or their advisers, inad-
vertently lost sight of the fact that by the proceedings aforesaid
and the election of said Vestry, the members of said Church
within said Parish so acting had become duly incorporated
under the said Vestry Act, and attempted to procure a charter
from the Harford County Court, and in the paper purporting
to be such charter the said Vestry are named the Vestry of St.
John's Church, St. John's Parish, Harford County, and by said
name acts of the said Vestry have been described.

AND WHEREAS, Deeds and conveyances have been accepted
by said Vestry and the lands and other property thereby con-
veyed are now held by the said Vestry by divers names, that is
to say, by the name of said last-named Vestry; the Vestry of
St. John's Church, Havre de Grace; the Vestry of St. John's
Church, St John's Parish, Harford County, Maryland; the
Rev. Henry B. Martin, Pastor and Ex-officio President of the
Board of Vestrymen of St. John's Church, Protestant Episco-
pal, in Havre de Grace Parish; the Members of the Board of
Vestrymen in the Town of Havre de Grace, in the county of
Harford, and State of Maryland; the Vestry of St. John's
Protestant Episcopal Church, in the Town of Havre de Grace;
the Vestry of St John's Church, Protestant Episcopal, of the
Town of Havre de Grace, Harford County, and State of Mary-
land; and the Vestry of St. John's Church, in Havre de Grace;
or by names of similar wording or import, and deeds or convey-
ances have been made by said Vestry by other than the original
and correct name of said Vestry.

AND WHEREAS, By attempting to secure said Act of Incor-
poration from Harford County Court, a question has arisen as
to whether by so doing the said Vestry waived its corporate ex-
istence under the said Vestry Act.

AND WHEREAS, The said Vestry is desirous of correcting the
said errors and inadvertencies and continuing and resuming its
original name, and holding all its lands and other property by
