deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on indict-
ment therefor and conviction thereof, shall be
imprisoned in the city or county jail not more
than six months, or shall be fined not more than
five hundred dollars, or both, in the discretion of

the court; but nothing herein contained shall be
construed to relieve the sheriff or other officer
holding said execution from his responsibitity to
the execution creditor for the safe keeping of any
personal property by him levied on and taken in
execution as aforesaid.

AN ACT to establish an additional court in the
city of Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

the same is hereby established in and for the
city of Baltimore, to be styled the circuit court
number two, of Baltimore city. The powers
and jurisdiction of said court shall be concur-
rent with those now held and exercised by the
circuit court of Baltimore city, and both of said
courts shall have the same terms and return
days; subject, however, to such rules and regu-
lations for a proper distribution and apportion-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall be


elected another judge of the supreme bench of
Baltimore city, by the legal and qualified voters
of said city, at the election to be held in said
city on the Tuesday next after the first Monday
of November, eighteen hundred and eighty-
eight ; the said judge, when elected, to be sub-
ject to all the provisions of the constitution
relating to the supreme bench in Baltimore city
and the several judges thereof.
