76 other libraries
hold 1-4 titles each
|
|
|
|
|
|
A glance at these statistics reveals four
striking factors:
1. the wide distribution of copies (44
states);
2. the large proportion of items existing
in three copies or less (over 50%);
3. the wide distribution of such items
(89 libraries hold at least one item known
in three copies or less);
4. the pre-eminence of the American Anti-
quarian Society and the Library of Congress
for research on Maryland imprints beyond the
boundaries of Maryland.
