The work was to have been printed in three handsome octavo volumes on good paper with an elegant type, neatly bound
and lettered. The price was one guinea of which one half was to be paid in advance. See Chapter Four for a more detailed

Describes the murder of an Irish Catholic priest by a group of six "very profane blasphemous young men" and the
wrath of God which they brought upon themselves. They were found the next morning " .. scatter'd in different parts
of the Church-yard ... and ... in an adjacent field, in a flame of fire, with blood gushing out of their mouths ..." A. good
example of the contemporary literature designed to lead the youth into the path of righteousness by showing him the pro-
gressive stages from cursing and swearing and Sabbath breaking to murder. See numbers 383 and 384 for similar publications
by Bartgis in German during the same year.
