Which was read.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates returned the following
bill :

A bill, entitled, An act to amend the 88th section of Article 7
of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to Carroll county, by
adding thereto the following ————;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
bill :

A bill, entitled, An act to add new sections to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Worcester county, under the head of oys-
ters;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

A bill, entitled, An act to make valid the qualification of John
Merryman as First Lieutenant of the Baltimore County Horse
Guards,

Was taken up.

Mr. Stone moved to lay the bill on the table.

The yeas and nays being demanded,

Mr. McKaig moved a call of the Senate, when the following
Senators answered to their names:

Messrs. Blackistone, Bradley, Franklin, Goldsborough, of Tal-
bot, Heckart, Kimmel, McKaig, Stone, Whitaker—9.

Mr. Stone moved to suspend further proceedings under the
call.
