ton and Allegany.

Mr. Franklin submitted the following

AMENDMENT:

In the last line of section 1, after the word "Allegany," insert
"and Anne Arundel;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Duvall submitted the following
AMENDMENT:

In the last line of section 1, after the word "Anne Arundel,"
insert, "and Carroll;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. McKaig, from a select committee, reported favorably the fol-
lowing:

A bill, entitled, An act to make valid the qualification of John
Merryman, as First Lieutenant of the Baltimore County Horse
Guards;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Townsend, from a Joint Committee, submitted the follow-
ing

REPORT:

The Joint Committee on the part of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland, to whom was referred the ques-
tion of mileage and per diem, beg leave to report, that they have
taken into consideration said questions, and report the following
resolution:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the mem-
bers of the two Houses, together with their respective officers, be,
and are hereby, entitled to per diem during the recess, and mile-
age, and that the Committee on Claims be instructed to pay the
same.
