38 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Fees of Offi-
cers," sub-title "Notaries Public," to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, delivered,

House Joint Resolutions in regard to improvements in
navigation al the mouth of the Susquehanna river.

Which were read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
On motion by Mr. Walsh,

The Senate, at 2.25 P. M., went into Executive Session.

At 2.45 P. M., the Senate resumed the consideration of
Legislative business.

When,

On motion by Mr. Freeman,

The Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, March 6th, 1876.

Senate met at 12 M.

Prayer by Rev. Father Schwartz.

Present at Roll call, the following Senators:

Messrs. Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Duke, Dennis, Free-
man, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Humphreys, Joyce, Lee, Law-
rence, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Walsh—17.

The Roll having been called and the President of the Sen-
ate being found absent, his absence was duly announced by
the Secretary,

When,

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The Hon. John Carroll Walsh, of Harford county, was
elected President pro tem.

The proceedings of Friday's Session were read and ap-
proved.

Mr. Joyce presented the memorial of 291 merchants, of
Baltimore city, in opposition to the proposed alteration of
the license law in relation to sample traders.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
