Deputy Sheriff to receive such compensation as may be
prescribed by the County Commissioners of said County
not to exceed $900. per annum.

(r) The Sheriff of St. Mary's County shall receive an
annual salary of $3,300. and he shall be allowed in addition
thereto the sum of $3,800. for the payment of a Deputy
or Deputies and for the expenses of his office as he shall
determine.

(s) The Sheriff of Somerset County shall receive an
annual salary of $3600. He shall appoint a Chief Deputy
who shall receive an annual salary of $1200. and he shall
also be allowed not exceeding $5000. per year for all
expenses of his office of every kind, including automobile
mileage allowance, and necessary deputies and clerical
assistance.

(t) In Talbot County the Sheriff shall receive an annual
salary of $1800. He may appoint, subject to the approval
of the County Commissioners of the County, a deputy who
shall receive an annual salary of $1200.

(u) The Sheriff of Washington County shall receive an
annual salary of $3000., and $300. a year for the Sheriff's
automobile to be used by him in the performance of his
duties. He may appoint an office Deputy at an annual salary
of $2100.; two Deputies who shall each receive an annual
salary of $2100. and $25. per month each for the use of
their automobiles; one secretary who shall receive an
annual salary of $1500.; two jail wardens who shall receive
an annual salary of $1800. and a cook who shall receive not
more than $100. per month. Sheriff may appoint such addi-
tional Special Deputies as he may deem necessary with the
approval of the County Commissioners as to number and
compensation.

(v) The Sheriff of Wicomico County shall receive an
annual salary of $3000. He shall appoint a Chief Deputy
who shall receive an annual salary of $2000. and said Sher-
iff shall be allowed not less than $6000. per year for office
expenses, including automobile mileage, and for clerical
assistance and additional deputies.

(w) The Sheriff of Worcester County shall receive an
annual salary of $2400. He shall appoint two deputies who
shall each receive an annual salary of $1800. He shall be
allowed $1000. per year for expenses.

(x) In Baltimore City, the Sheriff shall receive an
annual salary of $7,500.00. He shall appoint a Chief Deputy
