has been ruled out of its benefits under the marriage provi-
sion of said Act, and asking that she may have special relief
for the remainder of her natural life.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Hill presented the petition of William A. Jarboe and
61 other citizens of Prince George's County, praying for a
law to secure the better observance of the Sabbath.

Which was read and referred to Senators Hill, Gorman
and Joyce.

Mr. Hill presented the petition of E. R. McKean and 41
other citizens of Prince George's County, asking for a Home-
stead Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Hill presented the petition of E. E. McKean and 42
other citizens of Prince George's County, praying for a change
in the law of Landlord and Tenant.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's, presented the petition of John
C. Herbert and 39 other citizens of St. Mary's County; also
the petition of James Thomas and 51 other citizens of said
county; also the petition of John T. Ballenger and 92 other
citizens of said county, praying for the passage of an Act, to
enable the voters of St. Mary's County to determine whether
or not intoxicating liquors shall be sold in said county.

Which were severally read, and referred to the Committee
on Finance.

Mr. Bannon presented the petition of E. S. Emory an
Richard Hynson and others, for the improvement of the wharf
property at Chestertown, Kent County.

Which was read and referred to Senators Hepbron, Ford
and Bannon.

Mr. Sulivane submitted the following:
Ordered, That the postmaster of the Senate furnish to the
chaplains of the Senate the same amount of stamps already
authorized and directed by law to be paid to the other em-
ployees of the Senate.
Which was rejected.

On motion by Mr. Welfley, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr.
Combs, of Allegany, was absent from his seat on the
