At 1 o'clock P. M., the Senate went into Executive Session.

At 1. 05 P. M., the Senate resumed the consideration of
Legislative business,

The Senate adjourned.

THURSDAY, January 24th, 1878.

Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. L. D. Travers.
Present at roll call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Bannon, Combs, of Allegany, Combs, of
St. Mary's, Cooper, Dennis, Ford, Franklin, Freeman,
Garey, Gorman, Hill, Humphreys, Lancaster, Lee, McLane,
Miller, Newcomer, Peter, Steiner, Stump, Sulivane, Welfley,
Wilson-24.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared and
delivered a communication from the Executive, endorsed,
"Executive business. "

Mr. Steiner presented the petition of Magdaline Rams-
burg, a resident of Middletown, Frederick County, stating
that, although her name is on the Pension Act of 1876, she
