On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The vote by which the said bill was rejected for want of a
constitutional majority,

Was reconsidered.

Said bill was then made the order of the day for "Wednes-
day, the 27th instant, at one o'clock.

Mr. Wilson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 118, of Article
18, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled ''St. Mary's
County," sub-title "Sheriffs," as enacted by the Act of 1868,
Chapter 309, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 49 and 50, of
Article 18, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "St. Mary's
County," sub-title "Leonardtown," and re-enact the same
with amendments.

Which were read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 220, Acts of
1876, entitled an Act to establish a free bridge over the Pa-
tapsco River, at or near the present site of Light Street
Bridge, and to provide for free travel from Anne Arundel
County to Baltimore City, and to enact the following in lieu
thereof,

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. Lancaster submitted the following amendments :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out the words "and directed" whenever it occurs,
and insert the word "and" before the word "empowered."

Which was rejected by yeas and nays, as follows:
