Mr Waters presented the memorial of 57 citizens of
St. Peter's District, in Somerset county, praying for
the repeal of the fence law in said district.

Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Waters,
Toadvin and Smith.

The President presented the memorial of James M.
Leonard and 100 other citizens of Talbot county,
against the repeal of the local option law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.

ORDERS.

Mr. Gorter submitted the following:

Ordered, That the postmaster of the Senate be and
he is hereby directed to furnish the officers of the
Senate, each, with $15 worth of postage stamps in ad-
dition to the $5 worth heretofore received by them.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

On motion by Mr. Robinson, it was

Ordered, That Senators Bennett, Coffin, Hubner,
Newman, Toadvin and Wilkinson be excused from
attendance at this day's session.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By Mr. Moss, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 2, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel
County, " sub-title "County Commissioners. "

Which was read the first time, and referred to
Messrs. Moss, Seibert and Robinson.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re enact
with amendments section 138, of chapter 538, of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1890.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Elections.

By Mr. Robinson,

Senate bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction
and consent of the General Assembly of Maryland to
the bequests contained in the last will of James Walsh,
late of Harford county, deceased, to the Right Rev.
C. P. Maes and others, and to certain charitable and
religious institutions.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.
