"Sec. 27 A. Authority is hereby given to the Fifth
Regiment infantry, Maryland National Guard, to
enlist and organize two additional companies, so that
said regiment shall consist of 12 companies.
"Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect fiom the date of its passage."
Which were severally read and adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a first time.
Mr. Carter, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably, with proposed amendment, the
following order, referred to said committee February
3d, viz:
Ordered, That the officers of the House of Delegates,
not heretofore provided for, shall be allowed $10
worth of stamps and $15 worth of stationery.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the words "$15, worth of stationery" in
the order.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Field submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:

Strike out the words "ten dollars," and insert the
words "twenty dollars."
