Honse bill entitled an Act to repeal and le-enact
with amendments, section 406, of Article 27, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments," sub-title "Penitentiary," prohibiting con-
tract labor.
Which report was adopted.
Mr. Wilkinson, from the Committee on Amend-
ments to the Constitution, reported back to the
House,
House bill entitled an Act to amend Article 4, sec-
tion 39, of the Constitution of Maryland, with recom-
mendation that
Said bill be referred to the Baltimore City Delega-
tion, recommendation of committee adopted, and bill
so referred.
Mr. Field, from the Committee on Militia, reported
favorably, with proposed amendments :
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments, section 26, of Article 65, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Militia," and to
authorize the formation of two addditional companies
of the Fifth Regiment Infantry, Maryland National
Guard.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend title of bill by inserting in line 3, after the
word "Militia," and to add another section to said
Article 65, to come in after section 27 A, and to be
known as "Section 27 A, authorizing," and also amend
the title by striking out the words "and to authorize"
in line 3.
Also
Amend section 26, by adding at the end thereof, the
following: ''And to be located and distribute though-
out the State, as follows :"
Also,
Strike out sections 2 and 3, and insert in lieu thereof,
after section 26, the following :
"Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the fol-
lowing be, and it is hereby added as an additional
section to Article 65, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Militia." to come in after section 27, and
be known as "Section 27 A."
