items of all expenditures for military purposes of
said funds.

NOTE —1870, c 102, s 7 exempts the road supervisors of Anne Arundel county from mihtla
and jury duty See Public Local Laws, Article II, sec. 241, post

1870, c. 142, s. 5 exempts the rond supervisors of Howard county from militia and
jury duty. See Public Local Laws, Article XIII, Howard county, post.

1870, c. 411 adds the following sections, and repeals 1867, c. 187, and 1868, c. 70
so far as they are inconsistent herewith:

senate and
house.

SEC. 13. The officers of the senate and house of
delegates shall be as follows, with such compensation
as is hereinafter provided, and it shall not be lawful
for the senate and house of delegates to increase the
number or compensation of their officers, while this
act continues in force, but the president of the senate
or speaker of the house of delegates, when the work
of their respective houses cannot be performed by the
regularly appointed officers in the time required, may
appoint an additional officer or officers pro tempore,
with such compensation as may be right and proper ;
provided, it shall not exceed that herein allowed officers
with like duties.
