SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That in consideration of this
cutting and making of the inlets or canals aforesaid, and main-
taining the same, and the great advantage rendered to the
adjacent lands thereby, and the increased taxable value of these
lands and of the remaining bottoms of the said bays to the State
of Maryland and to Worcester county, and to the citizens
thereof, by salting the Isle of Wight, Assawomau and Sinepux-
ent Bays by the regular ebb and flow of the tide through the
inlets aforesaid, the State of Maryland does hereby grant and
convey unto the said "Sinepuxent Salt Water Inlet Company"
the right to the full, complete and exclusive privilege and profits
of breeding, planting, cultivating and gathering of all oysters,
clams and other shell fish, in any manner and at any time, on
all those bottoms of the waters of the bays and tributaries
easterly or southeasterly of the following described line, to wit:
Beginning at the most westerly point of the islands in Chin-
coteague Bay, known as "Whittington Point," on the maps of
the Maryland Geological Survey; thence running northerly to
the most easterly point of the islands known as "Robins Marsh,''
on said maps; thence running northeasterly to the most south-
erly point of Sinepuxent Neck, so called, known as "South
Point," on said maps; thence running on a line between said
"South Point" and the most southwesterly point of the islands
known as "Great Egging Beach," on said maps, to a point
located southeasterly of said "South Point" at a distance equal
to one-quarter of the length of the said line between "South
Point" and' "Great Egging Beach;" thence running in a gen-
eral northeasterly or northerly direction on a line as nearly
parallel as practicable to the chief features of the mainland
shore line of the westerly sides of Sinepuxent, Isle of Wight
and Assawomau Bays, or on a line midway between the east
and west shore lines of the aforesaid bays in those places only
where such a line is westerly and nearer the mainland shore
than the said parallel line; thence along the said parallel or
midway lines, as the case may be, to the northern boundary line
of the State of Maryland.
SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That all the rights,
powers, grants and privileges hereby granted are upon the
express condition that the above mentioned canal shall be com-
pleted on or before the first day of May, 1918.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
