To manufacture, supply, sell, to rent or hire, deal in stoves,
engines and other apparatus and conveniences which may seem
calculated directly or indirectly, to promote the consumption of
gas.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Frederick Railroad
Company be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to con-
solidate with the Frederick Gas and Electric Company, a cor-
poration duly incorporated under the laws of the State of Mary-
land, by a consolidation of the Frederick Gas Company and the
West End Gas and Electric Company, and to consolidate with
any railroad company, electric railway company, gas company,
electric company or electric power company organized or doing
business in this State or any adjoining State, under and in
accordance with sections 29, 30 and 31 of Article 23, of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as amended by the
Acts of 1908, Chapter 240; and subject to the provisions of the
Acts of Assembly of the State of Maryland of 1910, Chapter
180, creating the Public Service Commission of Maryland.

SEC 2A. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
act contained is intended or shall be taken or construed as
relieving the said corporation from the provisions of Chapter
180 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1910
known as the public Service Commission Law or any amend-
ment thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
