CHAPTER 275.

An act to authorise the Justices of the Levy Court for Dvr-
|
 
|
chester county, to levy a sum of money, to establish a pub-
|
 
|
lic Ferry across the " World's End Creek," in said county.
|
Levy authorised
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That the Justices of the Levy Court for Dorchester
|
 
|
county, be, and they are hereby authorised and empowered,
|
 
|
at their discretion, if they, or a majority of them, shall be-
|
 
|
lieve that the public convenience will be thereby subserved,
|
 
|
to levy on the assessable property in said county, a sum of
|
 
|
money not exceeding seventy-five dollars, annually, to es-
|
 
|
tablish a public Ferry across the "World's End Creek at
|
 
|
or near the dwelling house of Arthur Pritchett, Esquire, on
|
 
|
the east side of said creek, and to land at or near the end of
|
 
|
a road on the west side of said creek, which road runs from
|
 
|
thence by the dwelling plantation of Solomon Kirman, Esq.
|
 
|
to St. John's Chapel.

Ferry to be regu-
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That after the said Ferry is es-
|
lated
|
tablished, it shall be kept, disposed, managed, and regulated,
|
 
|
in the same manner as other public ferries in said county,
|
 
|
now are managed, disposed of, and regulated; and the laws
|
 
|
now in existence, in relation to public ferries in said county,
|
 
|
are hereby extended to the Ferry established by this act, so
|
 
|
far as the same are necessary to give validity and effect to
|
 
|
this act.

An act for the relief of Isaac Hooper, former Collector of
|
 
|
Calvert county.
|
Authority to re-
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
|
lease
|
the commissioners of the tax for Calvert county, be, and
|
 
|
they are hereby authorised to release Isaac Hooper, former
|
 
|
collector of the tax for said county, from any balance which
|
 
|
may appear to be due from him to the county, upon judg-
|
 
|
ment or otherwise; provided they may think it expedient so
to do.
