CHAPTER 480.

AN ACT to repeal section four of an act passed
|
 
|
January session, eighteen hundred and seventy,
|
 
|
chapter four hundred, entitled " an act to author-
|
 
|
ize the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail
|
 
|
Road Company to build a railroad from Frederick
|
 
|
city, the terminus of the road, which it is author-
|
 
|
ized under its charter to build, through Frederick
|
 
|
and Montgomery counties to the boundary of the
|
 
|
District of Columbia, so as to make a direct con-
|
 
|
nection with the City of Washington," and to re-
|
 
|
enact the same with amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section four of an act of the General
|

re-enacted
|
Assembly of Maryland, passed January session, eigh-
|
 
|
teen hundred and seventy, chapter four hundred, en-
|
 
|
titled " an act to authorize the 'Frederick and Penn-
|
 
|
sylvania Line Rail Road Company to build a rail-
|
 
|
road from Frederick city, the terminus of the road,
|
 
|
which it is authorized under its charter to build,
|
 
|
through Frederick and Montgomery counties to
|
 
|
the boundary of the District of Columbia, so as to
|
 
|
form a distinct connection with the City of Wash-
|
 
|
ington," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
|
 
|
enacted so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That unless the railroad
|
 
|
hereby authorized, shall be commenced within six
|
 
|
years from the date of the passage of this act, and be
|

completed, with at least one set of tracks, within

twelve years from the passage of this act, shall be
|
 
|
void and of no effect.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
