CHAPTER 30.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Consumers Mutual Gas
Light Company of Baltimore city.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of
Maryland, That George M. Bokee, Thomas H.
Hanson, Lewis Seldner, S. Bernei, Richard H. Snow-
den, William E. Banks, Joseph G. Loane, Daniel
Donnelly, Joseph J. Clark, Thomas Hunt. James A.
Bruce, Emanuel Hess, and J. Wesley Guest and
their associates, successors and assigns be and they
are hereby created and made a body coporate by the

name and style of " The Consumers Mutual Gas
Light Company of Baltimore city, " and by that
name shall have succession, and shall be capable in
law to hold and dispose of property, to sue and be
sued, to plead and be impleaded, answer and defend,
and be answered and defended in any court of law
or equity, and in any other places whatsoever, to
receive and make deeds and contracts, to make, have
and use a common seal, and the same to break,
change, alter and renew at pleasure, and to pass all
such by-laws, as may be necessary to regulate its af-
fairs, and to do all such acts as shall be proper and
necessary for the purpose of their incorporation and
no further, and shall have perpetual succession by
said corporate name.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of
the said company, hereby incorporated, shall be two
millions of dollars in shares often dollars each, which
said capital stock may be increased by the president
and directors, to be elected as herein after 'provided
for, to an amount not exceeding three millions of
dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the persons herein-
before named, as corporators, may cause books to be
opened at such times and places as they shall direct,
after giving at least twenty. days public notice thereof,
by publication in at least two daily newspapers
printed in Baltimore city, for the purpose of receiving
subscriptions to the capital stock of said corporation.
