in lieu thereof the words: one-third.

Amend section 259, by striking out the words "two-fifths,"
where they occur in the fourteenth line, and insert in lieu
thereof the words: one-third.

Which were severally read and adopted
Mr. Fields submitted the following amendment :

Amend by inserting after the word "money," in twenty-
fourth line, section 259, the following words: with the con-
sent of the Mayor and City Register of Baltimore city.

Mr. Fields withdrew said amendment.
On motion by Mr. Kimmel,

The vote was reconsidered by which the sections from 250
to 259 were adopted.

Mr. Kimmell submitted the following amendment:

Strike out all after the word "Maryland," in line 1, sec-
tion 1, to the end thereof, and insert the following: The sec-
tions 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, 257, 258, 259 and
260, of Article 4, Public Local Laws, entitled "City of Bal-
timore," sub-title "Foreign Passengers," be and the same are
hereby repelled, and amended, and re-enacted to read respec-
tively, as follows,

Section 250, strike out in 3d line, from the word "Balti-
more," all to the word: "from".

Amend title by striking out all after the words "a bill,"
and insert the following: Entitled an Act to repeal sections
251, 252, 253, 254, 255. 256, 257, 258, 259 and 260, of Arti-
cle 4, Public Local Laws, entitled "City of Baltimore," sub-
title " Foreign Passengers," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which were severally read and adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time and
ordered to been grossed for the third reading.

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 102, 103,
104, 107 and 108, of the Public Local Laws, of Baltimore
county, relating to taxes,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
