On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive busi-
ness, and after a time resumed the consideration of Legis-
lative business.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

Leave of absence was granted Senator Fields until Thurs-
day next.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,
The Senate adjourned.

SATURDAY, February 19,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Father Duffey.
Present at the roll call, the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Clarke, Henkle, Henry, Hyland, Kim-
mel, Maddox, Miller, Sellman, Spates, Stephenson, Wil-
son—12.

There being no quorum present,
On motion by Mr. Stephenson,

The Senate was called, and the Sergeant-at-Arins directed
to inform absent Senators that their presence was required in
the Senate Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Compton,
Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned to the Senate Chamber,
and reported that the Senator from Washington county, the
only absent Senator in the city, would shortly appear.

Mr. Grove appeared and took his seat.
The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Clarke presented the petition of Henry Kellog and
Martha Kellog, of Baltimore county, praying for the repeal
of the Act of 1864, chapter 144, incorporating the Board of
Beneficence of St. John's Independent Methodist Protestant
Church, in the City of Baltimore, and other relief.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpor-
ations.
