elected or appointed, to collect all balances due to them as
sheriffs or collectors respectively, in the same manner as they
could or might collect such , balances before the expiration of
their respective times of serving in said office.
SEC. 3. This section repealed by 1816, ch. 17.
By 1820, ch. 48, sec. 3, further time may be granted upon application to
the county court.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the people called Quakers, those called Nicholites or New
Quakers, those called Menonists, Tunkers, and others holding
it unlawful to take an oath on any occasion, shall be allowed to
make their solemn affirmation, in the manner that they have
been heretofore allowed to affirm, which affirmation shall be of
the same avail as an oath, to all intents and purposes whatso-
ever.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before any of the persons
aforesaid shall be admitted as a juror in any court of justice in
this state, the court shall be satisfied by such testimony that
they may require, that such person is one of those who profess
to be conscientiously scrupulous of taking an oath.

That the inspectors at the several tobacco warehouses shall on
or before the first day of April next, and in the same month of
every year thereafter, cause to be inserted in some one of the
Baltimore newspapers, once in each week for three months, and
set up at the court-house door of his county an advertisement,
stating the name of the warehouse, the weight, gross, tare and
