(119) And whereupon the sd George and Elizabeth by Peter Dent their Attorney say that the sd Jonathan the 13th day of October in the year of our Lord 1686. at Monocan within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his certain - Bill Obligatory which the sd George and Elizabeth with the seal of the sd Jonathan Signed bringeth here into Court the date whereof is the day and yeare aforesd .acknowledged him selfe to be bound to the sd William Stevens in his life time in the said full and just Sum of three thousand three hundred thirty and three pounds of tobacco and Caske to be pd to the sd William. convenient att some place appointed by Act of Assembly on the bay side in Somersett County at or upon the 10th. day of October in Anno. 1688. to the which payment well and truly to be made the sd Jonathan bound himselfe firmly by the sd Bill, Nevertheless the sd Jonathan the sd sum of 3333. Pounds of tobacco and Caske although often demanded the same to the sd Wm. in his lifetime, or to the sd Elizabeth while she was Sole and unmarried, nor to the sd George and Elizabeth since the marriage between them had and Solemnized, nor to any of them hath not rendered, but hath hitherto denyed and doth still deny to the damage of the said George and Elizabeth of 5000 Pounds of tobacco and thereof they bring their suit &c. Rich: Roe Know all men by these presents This Bill bindeth me Jonathan Towers of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Cooper my Heirs, Executors and Administrators to pay or cause to be paid unto Coll. William. Stevens of Somersett County merchant, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators or Assigns the full and just Sum of three thousand three hundred thirty three pounds of Good somd Merchantable leaf tobacco in Caske convenient, at Some place appointed by Act of Assembly on the Bay side in Somerset County, at or upon the tenth day of October in Anno: 1688: Ensueing the date hereof as Wittness my hand and Seal this thirteenth day of October. 1686: Signed Sealed & dilivered in the presence of us. - - - - - - C - - - - - - Robert: Cade Edmund: Howard This Bill Owned as aforesd by Jonathan: Towers. // vide Order 118 George Layfield. et Uxer.Plts.
