LAWS OF MARYLAND.

WHEREAS, The Mayor, City Counsellor and Aldermen of
the City of Annapolis have heretofore granted unto said cor-
poration under said name, style and title, certain rights, privi-
leges and franchises, for which said grants it is desirous of
obtaining absolute legal sanction; and,

WHEREAS, For the purpose of meeting fully all of the obli-
gations and of performing all of the acts necessary to its suc-
cessful operation, it is necessary that the said Potomac and
Severn Electric Railway Company should be vested with
certain additional rights, powers, privileges and franchises;
therefore,

SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the name of the Potomac and Severn Electric Rail-
way Company, incorporated under Article 23, of the Code of
Public General T,aws of the State of Maryland of eighteen
hundred and eighty-eight, be and the same i's hereby changed
to the "Washington and Annapolis Electric Railway Com-
pany," which is hereby fixed and established as the corporate
name of said corporation; which said corporation by the name
of the "Washington and Annapolis Electric Railway Com-
pany" shall have and hold all of the property, enjoy all of the
rights and exercise all the powers and functions which were
heretofore possessed by or conferred upon said corporation
under and by its former name of the Potomac and Severn
Electric Railway Company.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all the rights, privi-
leges and franchises heretofore granted by the Mayor, City
Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis unto the
said Potomac and Severn Electric Railway Company be and
the same are hereby ratified and confirmed, so as to make the
same effective and operative in favor of the said railway com-
pany, under the change of name hereby provided and binding
upon the said City of Annapolis for the full purpose and intent
of the grant, so made to the end that the said railway company
shall be its said name of "The Washington and Annapolis
Electric Railway Company" have, hold, possess and enjoy all
of said rights, privileges, powers and franchises as fully and
beneficially as if said grants had been originally made to it by
the name of the said "The Washington and Annapolis Electric
Railway Company."

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in addition to the powers and rights conferred
upon the said corporation by the General Laws of this State,
the said railway company be and it is hereby authorized and
