Mr. Crothers, from the Committee on Finance, reported unfavorably, Senate bill No. 104, entitled "An Act to appropriate the sum of $50,000 for the year 1900, and the sum of $50,000 for the year 1901, to the Johns Hopkins Univer- sity." Mr. Brewington moved to substitute the bill for the unfavorable report. Which motion prevailed. AMENDMENT PROPOSED. By Mr. Brewington, In the title of the bill, strike out "fifty thousand dol- lars” wherever it appears and insert therein "twenty- five thousand dollars." In line 3 of printed bill, strike out "fifty” and insert therein "twenty-five." In line 4 of printed bill, strike out "fifty” and insert -"twenty-five."
