Also, favorably, Senate bill No. 228, entitled "An Act to repeal sections 54 and 55 of Article 17 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title ‘Clerks of Court,' and to re-enact the same with amendments." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a third reading. Also favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to change the hours of opening the polling places in the several election districts of Calvert county, and directing the judges of election to begin the election and open the poiis at 6 o'clock in the morning at each polling place in the several election dis- tricts, and shall be kept open until 6 o'clock in the after- noon of the same day." Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to refund to Achilles Ford, brother of William G. Ford, late of Baltimore city, de- ceased, a sum of money erroneously paid as collateral in- heritance tax by him to Stephen R. Mason, Register of Wills of Baltimore city, on the estate of said William G. Ford, deceased, and which sum of money covered into the State Treasury by said register of wills, less 25 per centum commission retained by him." Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, Senate bill No. 179, entitled "An Act to add certain new sections to the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Public Education,' under the new sub-title ‘Expendi- tures for Higher Education,' to follow section 123, to be known as ‘Sections 124, 125 and 126." Which was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
