Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789. 209

Clark One thousand and five hundred pounds Current Money to be
by him expended in finishing the public buildings within this City
agreeably to a Resolution of the General Assembly and to be by him
accounted for.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday morning 11 o'clock.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

John Davidson Esquires.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Samuel
Clements Sixteen pounds, One shilling and eight pence specie agree-
ably to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this State" per Account
passed by the Auditor General.

That the said Treasurer pay to Colo. Francis Deakins One hundred
and fifty pounds Current Money to be expended in defraying the
expences attending the laying out and surveying the lands, the prop-
erty of the State, to the westward of Fort Cumberland agreeably to
a Resolution of the General Assembly, on Account.

Ordered that Mr. John Shaw deliver to Colo. Francis Deakins
six Tents to be used in laying out the Lands Westward of Fort
Cumberland for which he is to Account.

[p 252] Monday 30th. July 1787

The Council met.

Present as on Thursday.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Hart-
shorn Forty eight pounds, seventeen shillings and six pence Current
Money due him per Account passed by the Auditor General.
