Sir
We inclose you the Power desired to Colo Selden. If Mrs
Chamier is allowed to pass the Lines and come through the
other States, we know of nothing to prohibite her coming in this
State. Giving a Special Permit, where it is unnecessary, may
induce an Opinion that it is necessary, and occasion much
Trouble to ourselves and Individuals

[Council to H. Hollingsworth.]
In Council Annapolis 28th May 1779
Sir
We have directed the Arms sent by Tregoe, to be put into
a fine sailing Virginia built Pilot Boat, to be escorted by one
of our Gallies with a Tender. By a Letter from Genl
Buchanan, the Arms which lay at the Head of Elk, belonging to
this State, were sent to Nottingham; we request they may be
sent to Baltimore with all Expedition. By a Letter from the
Board of War, received to Day, we are to expect three hundred
Stand of Arms for this State to be sent to the Head of Elk
from Lancaster, those also we desire may be sent to Balt0
immediately on their getting to Elk. The Virginia Post has
just come in, there are no Letters giving an Account of the
situation of Things in Virginia or any late Intelligence from
thence; your being clear of Stores and its being generally
known, may, perhaps, save your Neighbourhood a Visit.
What Flour is stored at the Head of Elk or that lies within
three or four Miles of it, ought by all Means to be removed to
Christeen, as quick as may be; what lies in a safe situation,
ought to remain there, we do not know where it may be wanted
