the names of either he does not remember. We are also
informed by two passengers from the sloop that the Otter,
Squires, and Tender, the schooner Hinchenbrook, Elliss, and
three small schooners with 4 and 6 guns are stationed of St
Augustine, the Cherokee of six 4 pounders, the Raven of six-
teen 6 pounders and the Sphynx of twenty 9 pounders sta-
tioned off Coxspur in Georgia which is all the intelligence I
have got at present. Our Ship's Company is all hearty and
in high Spiritts. I have the honor to be Gent.

Ship of Warr Defence at Sea October 4th 1776
Gentn
I have the pleasure to inform you by Capt Thomas Walker
whom I've sent Prize Master of a Sloop from St Augustine
bound to Liverpool with a few casks of Indico on Board &
but little else Her papers & a Package of Letters is deliver
to Capt Walkers care, at the same time took a Snow belong-
ing to Glasgow from the bay of Hondoras loaded with Mahog-
gany & logg wood bound to Cork.
I'm inform'd by two Gentleman Passengers from on board
the Sloop that the Otter (Squires & Tender, the Schooner
Hichenbrook Elliss and three small Schooners Mounting 4 and
6 Pounders the Raven of sixteen 6 Pounders and the Sphynx
Twenty 9 Pounders stationed off St Augustine & cockspur in
Georgia we are also informed by Capt Bolton of the Snow
that he was boarded by a boat belonging to a 22 Gunn Ship
the first of this Instant who enquired of him if the Jamaco
fleet had sail'd, he likewise say, there was another Ship of 24
Gunns the names of ether he does not recollect.
This is all the Intelligence I've got a Present. Our Ship
Company is all hearty and in high Spirits. I have
