A Share of the Douglass Instititute, 210 E. Lexington Street

Baltimore City Circuit Court (Equity Papers A, Misc.), No. 277, Transfer Series 53

THIS DOCUMENT represents a small number of the shares in the Douglass Institute held by John H. Butler, the institution's president. However, all share holders did not possess the financial resourses of Butler. The fact that there were so many small holders suggests that the community had faith in the Institute's purpose and potential longevity.
