Rev. William M. Alexander (1852 - 1919)

About Alexander's Training and Missionary Work: Reportedly, Alexander assisted the members of the Sitke Mission in not only establishing a school, but incorporating a town. However, nothing of this town is known except that it was named for a man named "Lewis," and its probable location: southeastern Montgomery Co., near the Prince George's County border. See: "Rev. W.M. Alexander," Baltimore Afro American, 22 February 1896. Sharon Baptist Church: Centennial Celebration, Baltimore, 1985, MSA Library, No. 1550, c.1.
