Information:

In 1814, lot 8 on Market Street in Brookeville was an empty lot owned by Richard Thomas Jr., who founded the town and began selling lots by 1800.1 Brookeville was built on part of a 248 acre tract of land in Montgomery County that Thomas and his wife inherited when his father-in-law, Roger Brooke IV, passed away in 1792.2 Many of the original lots in the town, including lot 8, remained in Thomas's possession until his death in 1821.3
