Residence of Margaret Brooke, 1809-1818

Information:

In November of 1809, Margaret Brooke purchased lot 14 on Market Street in Brookeville as part of a two-lot parcel along with lot 15 that served as her primary residence.1 Margaret was the daughter of Roger Brooke IV, who was a major land owner in Montgomery County. In 1813, the lot on which Margaret's home was located was valued at $300.2 Margaret lived on the property until 1818, when she sold it to fellow Montgomery County resident Rachel Robertson.3
