LOCKE - Alexander LOCKE - Insolvency - Washington County - 1799


George LOCKE testified on 18 Mar 1799 that he knew Alexander LOCKE, 
now a prisoner in the Goal (jail) of Washington County, and has 
known him since birth; Alexander was born in Maryland and has lived 
here since.

William MARBURY testified he was acquainted with the family of 
Alexander LOCK which has long been settled in St Mary's County and 
believes he has always been a resident of this state.

Alexander LOCKE testified his father was born in America and lived 
on the mouth of Wicomico, St Mary's County and there held the Naval 
Office until the day of his death at age 94.  He (Alexander) accepted 
a commission in the Militia of Washington County in Williams Port.
