Robert McGill Mackall(1889-1982) Born: Baltimore, Maryland Died: Baltimore, Maryland Genre:  Painting; portrait, history, stained-glass Education/Training:  Maryland Institute, Baltimore; Art Students League,  New York City; Paris and Germany Robert McGill Mackall known as "Gille" by many of his friends was an accomplished portrait artist, but he is best known for his historic mural paintings. He also taught and eventually became the head of the Fine Arts Department at the Maryland Institute.
