Presented, unknown Donor. unknown Owner, Baltimore City Circuit Court Private Career: Admitted to the bar, 1825 Incorporator of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, 1879 Counsel, B&O Railroad, 1827-1891 Counsel, Foreign Creditors of Maryland, 1841 President, American Colonization Society, 1853-1891 Commissioner from Maryland, Centennial Celebration of the United States in Philadelphia, 1876 Public Service: Regent, University of Maryland Comments: Co-founder, American Bar Association, 1878. Co-founder & President of the Maryland Historical Society. Co-organizer of the Maryland Institute College of Art, 1851 Named one of the pre-eminent Maryland lawyers and judges of the 18th and 19th centuries. Designed the entrance to Druid Hill Park on Madison Street in 1860. Invented the "Latrobe Stove" also known as "The Parlor Heater”. |
