Comments:
Named one of the pre-eminent Maryland lawyers and judges of the 18th and 19th centuries. Appointed to the Maryland Court of Appeals by Governor Thomas Watkins Ligon. Arrested June 28, 1862, as a southern sympathizer and imprisoned at Fort McHenry.
