Smith, Anthony, AA, advertised he would open a dancing school at the house of Mr. Senhouse in Annapolis, and assured his creditors he would pay them (AMG 22 March 1759). On 5 April he advertised agaion stating he would teach dancing every Fridcay and Saturday (AMG 5 April 1759).

• Family: He was bapt. 6 March 1727 in St. James Parish, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Watkins) Smith and a grandson of Anthony Smith who was in Anne Arundel Co. by 1683 as an indentured servant. He m. by 14 July 1769, Jane, dau. of John and Mary (Warman) Watkins. Anthony and Jane were the parents of at least three children, named in the will of their grandmother Watkins: John, Anthony, and Mary, named in the will of her grandmother Watkins.
