Crawford, Alexander, (MSA SC5300-456), HA, in March 1776, as
Alexander Crawford, schoolmaster, he sued Edward Day McComas (Harford Co.
Court Docket, March 1776, Entry # 21).
Property: In 1783 Alexander Crawford
was listed in the Assessment List for Bush River Upper and Eden Hundreds,
Harford Co., as owning a lot in Abington and a lot with 1½ a. (MSA
S 1161-6-3, p. 6).
Will: Alexander Crawford d. leaving a
will dated 2 June 1786 and proved 26 July 1786. He named his wife Frances
as extx., and named his children, Margret, George, Thomas, Francis, and
Alexander, who were to have the land purchased over the mountains on the
waters of "Whealing." His house and lot in Eden Town were to be sold. Daniel
McJilton, John Carrs, and Hannah Cope or Coop witnessed the will (HA Co.
Will Book AJ#2:107).
In April 1787 Robert Amoss and William Smith were appointed as auditors
to settle the accounts of Alexander Crawford, dec. (Henry C. Peden, Jr.,
Harford County Orphans Court Proceedings, 1778-1800, FLP: p. 30).
