Bradford, William, (MSA SC53900-489), BA, fl. 1724/1757.
Property: A schoolmaster, he was in
Balto. Co. by 2 June 1724 when he purchased 323 a., being 1/2 of Enlargement,
from Abraham Whiteacre (BALR IS#G:329).
In 1754 he was listed in the BA Co. Debt Book as Capt. William Bradford,
and as the owner of part Enlargement, Bradford Barrens, part Come By Chance,
and part of Osburn Addition (Wright, Inhabitants of Baltimore County,
Other activities: He was on the Grand Jury in 1737 and also on the
petit jury (Wright, Inhabitants of Baltimore County, pp. 27, 28).On
20 April 1739 he was styled "Gentleman" in the will of Benjamnin Jones
of St. John's Parish (Md. Calendar of Wills 8:36). In 1750 as Capt.
William Bradford he was renominated by the Vestrymen and Churchwardens
of St. John's Parish to serve as Inspector of Tobacco for Otterpoint Warehouse
on Bush River (CMSP Black Books, item 678).
Family: He married twice and had issue. He died by 21 March 1757
Estate: When he died his estate was inventoried
at £71.12.4 (MINV 65:37).
