Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Army.  Farmer.  Member, Maryland Civil War Centennial Commission, 1961-65; Baltimore County Board of Recreation and Parks, 1963-78.  Member, Legislative Council, 1971-75.  Former Editor, Maryland Conservationist.  Former Assistant Editor, Maryland Historical Magazine.  Board Member, Maryland Historical Trust; Chesapeake Bay Foundation; National Audubon Society.  Member, Phi Beta Kappa; Farm Bureau; Izaak Walton League.  Received Legislator of the Year Award, Maryland Wildlife Federation, 1975.
