County, 1959-60, 1962-64. Assistant County Solicitor, Anne Arundel
County, 1961-62. Chair, Governor's Commission on Condominiums, Cooperatives
and Homeowners Associations. Member, Commission on Health Care Providers
Professional Liability Insurance; Governor's Commission to Study the Liability
of Public Employees. Member, Lake Shore, Roland Terrace, and Stoney
Creek Democratic Clubs; Trial Judges Association of Maryland; Heuisler
Honor Society; Elks; Board of Directors, Big Brothers, Named Big Brother
of the Year, 1966.
Personal Comments and Observations:
"[The most controversial issue with which I dealt
in the Senate was] the mass transit system--heavy rail; there were too
many [memorable moments for me to recount]; and [my most significant contributions
were to the] rock fish moratorium, critical areas law, and banking deregulation."
